Did anyone else just watch him having no idea how to react to a wheelstand?! I wouldn't want to be the owner of that Challenger.

Rule #1. Don't turn the wheel.

Kinja'd!!!

Rule #2. Don't lift. That's how you break a shit-ton of parts. Everything from suspension to driveline parts are put through hell when they smash into the ground like that.

Photo from moparmax.com because photos from the episode aren't available yet.

yeah that wasn't very graceful but still awesome! I'm sure my first reaction would be to lift.

Rule 1 also applies to jumping a car.....trust me ona that.

My first car could pull the front wheels off the ground at will if I gave it hell

Rule 2 was broken.

Also, don't wheelie a car that has a glass moon roof.....they shatter....and don't replace it with more glass after the first time, a week or so later it wil blow again..

Yes, he reacted wrong. I just can't tell if it was genuine or if he was told to fuck it up for the show- why would he more aggressive after doing it the first time?

Cue discussion on which presenter is most hated.

Neither Rut nor Tanner had much of any instruction, or real drag racing experience. a couple of turns around the grounds, and probably being told "you break it, History Channel buys it with money from your salary" is likely all that they had.

And when you can't see anything but sky... and have no orientation... dropping the car is better than wiping the car down the wall, or something worse than that, and potentially truly hurting themselves or others.

If they are going to have that kind of power to wheel-stand... they should have porthole windows in the floorboards, or something, but a novice isn't going to really do anything BUT lift, and probably won't be thinking clearly enough to realize what they are doing with the steering wheel at that point.

I like them all but I like tanner the least. He can be quite annoying at times.

Check http://www.free-tv-video-online.me/internet/top_g… tomorrow (June 4th), the episode should be up. But make sure you have an adblocker running, the ads on the website are annoying. But this is actually out and then has most TV shows for free, I discovered it last year, and watch many tv shows on it that I either don't get with my cable, *cough* full episodes of the orginal Top Gear and not the chopped stuff on BBC America * cough*

Rutledge Wood is the relative expert of those three hosts... as in... knows some stuff about cars and the industry. Not "the driver", so it isn't as if he is an experiential expert on drag racing as a professional NHRA racer, because he isn't. Even Tanner isn't apparently all that well versed with drag racing, as he is a road/rally/drift driver. Also, he doesn't bend cars in half, like Adam 'the Wrecker' Ferrara.

You sure it's not one of those sketchy Russian sites that force you to download malware? I don't feel like replacing an $80 (got it for $40) 64GB Samsung SSD.

yes, it's a trustworthy site. I use it all the time, and I'm not related to it at all. just make sure you have an adblocker, and I would suggest using either gorrillavid or sockshare for the hosts. Another decent site, though not quite as good is tubeplus.me. Just as I've said, USE AN ADBLOCKER!!! Here's someone else linking to it from our good ol oppo community http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/video-streamin…

I also wanted to point out that Tanner's harness was anything but safe. Not only was it incredibly loose the entire time, it wasn't mounted correctly. Who pays $150k to have a car resto-modded and doesn't correctly install a 5-point harness?

While I was watching I figured they had some type of off-screen instruction. As soon as I saw him jacking the wheel I knew they hadn't. Who just throws someone in an 8 second drag car (with no wheelie bars) with no guidance?
